Now, as carnival season approaches, the next Lion Ghillie chapter arrives.
The Beginning Of The Lion
The Lion Ghillie has been part of the Pauze journey since the early days of the clothing releases, originally launching through Pauzeradio back in 2024. What started as a single design on a white t-shirt quickly became one of the most recognised pieces we have put out. Before long, the design expanded onto a black t-shirt version as well.
The original white and black editions subtly inverted elements of the artwork, giving each version its own character while keeping the same core element, the Lion Ghillie.
In 2025, the Lion Ghillie moved onto hoodies, releasing across black, light grey, and olive colours, each bringing a different character to the design. Then in 2026, a white hoodie version joined the collection, continuing what has slowly become one of the most recognisable and iconic design progressions in Pauzewear’s history so far.
The original white Lion Ghillie tee has officially been discontinued, with the final remaining stock now moving into the Final Pieces section. Retiring the original felt like the right move, making space for the design to evolve rather than letting it stand still.
Jamaican Colours
This new version brings the Lion Ghillie into the unmistakable colours of the Jamaican flag.
Green, gold, and black.
This release is more than just another colour. It reflects the influence Jamaica has had on me personally through twenty years working in the Roots Reggae and Dub industry, while creating and broadcasting the Unique Reggae Mix Show. That connection to Jamaican music became a huge part of both Pauzeradio and the wider creative identity that would eventually shape the direction of Pauzewear itself.
Bringing those colours into the Lion Ghillie felt like a natural progression.
The design already carried a strong rhythmic energy, so giving it the Jamaican colours created a completely different atmosphere while still preserving the identity people connected with originally. The lion still feels powerful, but now with a warmer and stronger character tied closely to reggae and the carnival season.
The ash grey t-shirt choice was equally intentional.
The softer grey base allows the colours to pop without becoming overpowering, while the darker details in the artwork remain sharp and grounded. The balance between the muted tee and the vibrant print gives the design space to breathe properly.
Built For Festival Season
Festival season is fast approaching, outdoor sound systems are firing back up, and events across the UK are preparing for the heat of the summer. From reggae festivals through to Notting Hill Carnival, this version of the Lion Ghillie feels built for that atmosphere.
And this is only the beginning of the next evolution.
More Lion Ghillie variations will arrive over time, each shaped by different musical influences, cultures, and energies that have inspired the journey along the way.
The lion continues.
