In The Collective Since2025
Known to many as "Phen" in the Twitch gaming community, Phensicks first discovered Pauzewear through Twitch, PUBG streams and the wider online community. What began through mutual friends soon became something he genuinely connected with, appreciating the personal approach behind the brand and the people who make up The Collective.
For Phensicks, that's what separates Pauzewear from many modern clothing brands.
"The personal touch, not just a number or a barcode. It actually means something instead of faceless commercial fashion."
Based in the UK, Phensicks describes himself as a 51-year-old pescatarian, gamer, streamer and musician. Standing at 6'4" and proudly left-handed, he's lived a life full of experiences, travelling, performing in punk bands and exploring a wide range of interests that continue to shape who he is today.
One of the biggest turning points in Phensicks' life came in 2020 when he contracted COVID-19 and spent almost a month in a coma. Recovering from that experience changed his perspective on life, bringing new challenges but also a renewed appreciation for the things that matter most.
His first Pauzewear purchase was the black Lion Ghillie T-Shirt, but it wasn't long before another design became his favourite. The Jungle General T-Shirt Military Green instantly stood out to him.
"As soon as I saw it, it was in the basket! It spoke to me in a primitive way."
The military green colour and camouflage lion artwork really appealed to him, making Jungle General the design he reaches for most often.
Gaming has been a huge part of Phensicks' life, with PUBG remaining his main go-to game for almost eight years. Away from gaming, music has always played an equally important role.
His playlists are as varied as his record collection, moving between Elton John, jazz, extreme technical death metal and everything in between. That wide range of taste isn't anything new either. Looking back at compilation tapes he made during the 1990s, he realised his musical interests have always crossed genres.
He also enjoys playing guitar and bass, collecting vinyl, searching through record shop bargain bins and following Tottenham Hotspur, admitting he's been a long-suffering supporter for many years.
If he could bring one thing back from the past, it wouldn't be a fashion trend. Instead, he'd choose the simpler feeling of the 1970s and 1980s, remembering tape trading, vinyl and a time before fast fashion became the standard. Even today, he still uses glass plates and mugs from that era.
When describing Pauzewear to someone discovering it for the first time, his answer perfectly sums up his first impression.
"Tactical fashion. Mate!"
For him, Pauzewear represents thoughtful, forward-thinking clothing that feels personal and community-driven. It reminds him of the grassroots culture surrounding the early days of Bench Clothing, where people felt genuinely connected to the brand rather than simply buying another product.
Looking to the future, Phensicks would love to see designs inspired by analogue technology, from Moog synthesisers and reel-to-reel tape machines to Super 8 cameras and 8-track players. They're ideas that reflect his lifelong appreciation for music, and the technology that helped shape generations.
From gaming sessions and streaming to music, vinyl and discovering independent brands with a genuine community behind them, Phensicks continues to bring his own personality to The Collective while supporting a brand that values people over products.
