Some people are drawn to clothing because of a logo. Others because of a trend. For Suzanne, it has always been about creativity, originality and quality.
Based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Suzanne is a self-taught professional photographer whose work spans commercial branding, fine art and live music photography. For over two decades, her camera has taken her from independent businesses and music festivals to exhibitions and galleries, always driven by a passion for capturing stories through imagery.
Photography first became part of Suzanne's life while travelling. What began as a planned two-year adventure through Southeast Asia soon became four years exploring different cultures, landscapes and people. During her travels through Hong Kong, she bought her first camera, a Nikon FM2, and started photographing the world around her on black and white film.
Travelling through India, in particular, helped shape the way she saw the world, inspiring a lifelong appreciation for creativity, culture and visual storytelling.
Today, through Suzanne Bainton Photography, she works with independent businesses, makers and creative professionals, creating branding, product and lifestyle photography that helps tell their stories.
Alongside her commercial work, she has developed her own fine art collection, Submerge, producing abstract botanical photography inspired by the symbolism of historic Vanitas paintings. Under the name DJ Nights Photography, she has also spent years documenting live music, festivals and artists, combining two lifelong passions into one career.
With creativity playing such an important role in her life, it was perhaps inevitable that it would also lead her to Pauzewear.
While browsing online for T-shirts, Suzanne discovered the brand and immediately recognised something different. Rather than following fashion trends, the designs felt original, bold and full of personality. Her first purchase was the Riddim T-Shirt in Rizla Blue, and it quickly became the beginning of a growing collection.
Since then, she has added The Mixtape T-Shirt in Ash Grey and the Basscap Cassette in Black to her wardrobe. Although she enjoys every piece she owns, it's The Mixtape tee that is her favourite.
Its colourful artwork and nostalgic cassette-inspired design perfectly reflect the bold creativity she naturally gravitates towards.
Working professionally with imagery every day means Suzanne notices details that many people might overlook. It's not just the artwork that stands out to her, but the overall quality of each garment.
She describes Pauzewear as offering one-of-a-kind designs, premium 100% cotton and long-lasting prints that continue to look vibrant, even after repeated washing. For someone whose career revolves around colour, composition and presentation, those qualities matter just as much as the design itself.
When asked how she would describe Pauzewear to someone discovering it for the first time, her answer was refreshingly simple:
"Amazing print designs."
Sometimes the shortest descriptions say the most.
Looking ahead, Suzanne would love to see a future Pauzewear collection inspired by space. With her appreciation for striking visuals and imaginative artwork, she feels astronomy and cosmic themes would make an exciting addition to the brand.
Whether she's photographing a small business, documenting live music, creating fine art or exploring somewhere new with a camera over her shoulder, creativity continues to shape everything Suzanne does. That same appreciation for originality is what first connected her with Pauzewear and why she has become part of The Collective.
The Collective is made up of people from many different backgrounds, each with their own story to tell. Suzanne's story is one of creativity, curiosity and seeing the world through a different lens, qualities that continue to inspire both her photography and her support for independent brands.
